A Few of My Favorite Things

Some of the bracelets in my shop.

Here are a few of the items that I will be listing on my website soon. As you can see, most of the stuff I make is for girls, so I'm trying to find some things that would be suitable for little boys as well. :) If you click on the pictures, it will enlarge them so that you can get a better look at each item!

Ava's Surgery

Ava with her "Thumbs-up pose.

When the nurse asked Ava which hand she wanted
her ID tags on, she replied "On my foot." So as
you can see, it's on her leg instead of hand!

Giving George his daily dose of medicine.

Ava waking up from surgery in her "Pink" cast.
(Notice that George has his own ID tag on his
leg too. Where's his pink cast? :)

Ava is finally able to give us the thumbs up. (with her cast for now!) Her surgery was today, and everything went very well. So well, that she did not have to stay the night at the hospital. She got her "PINK" cast and was a trooper through the whole thing. She was so good and happy, until she woke up from surgery and realized that she couldn't take her cast off. I don't think she's adjusted to it yet, she has a hard time running, she kind of leans to one side, it's a little heavy, and she whacked herself with it when she put her arm up. Hopefully she'll get used to it very soon, don't want any other hospital visits. Well the hospital stay went well, getting home was another story. On the way home, it started to downpour, then Ava started to throw-up from her meds. So as I'm driving on the freeway in the pouring rain, and helping Ava not throw up on her cast, I get stuck behind a dip in a new corvette that couldn't drive a stick. Needless to say, he got off on the same exit as me, and he stalled his car three times with me behind him so a 10 minute drive down 168th street ended up taking 25 min. We are ALL happy to be home and spent the afternoon napping and watching movies! :)

Happy 3rd Birthday Ava!!!!!

Ava picked out the "Smiley" face cake herself.

Today, we celebrated Ava's 3rd birthday! Can't believe my baby girl is already 3, but she's actually going on 16. She got to pick out things for her b-day and of course, she picked out make-up and right now is trying on every shade and tube. She also picked out a baby doll that goes to the bathroom in its diaper, (what is this world coming to?) so she has also been busy changing diapers. I think she's changed more diapers than Matt!! We went to the zoo and then downtown, and ate at Spaghetti Works. Speaking of zoo's, downtown and parking was crazy, with the College World Series starting tomorrow. We are now off to La Mesa to take Ava out for dinner. She has already had two helpings of ice cream, at the zoo and at lunch, so we'll see if she's up for thirds, and trust me, with Ava, she will be! That's okay though, since her surgery is tomorrow, she can't have anything to eat or drink after midnight, so we're trying to fatten her up and tire her out so she won't be so cranky in the morning. Hopefully, she gets her pink cast. :)

Ava's Surgery

Pretty soon Ava will be able to give us a real "thumbs up"!!! No more "trigger finger"!

Ava's surgery will be on June 12th at 10:00 at Children's Hospital. They did have it scheduled for the 10th, but her 3rd birthday is on the 11th, so we decided to take her out for her birthday and give her lots of snacks, since she can't have anything to eat or drink after 10:00 pm. I don't know which will be more painful, the actual surgery or Ava not getting her chocolate milk for breakfast! :)
