Update on Ava's Thumb
Well. took Ava in to see the Dr. last week, and she will need to have surgery done, probably within the next couple of weeks. They will do it at Children's Hospital and she will have to wear a cast for a couple of weeks until it heals. I'm glad, because if you know Ava, a bandage would be ripped off within an hour of her surgery, at least with a cast, there's no ripping, and since she doesn't know how to use scissors yet, no cutting either! :)
Our Trip to Branson, MO
Well, for the last week, we have been down south, and by that, I mean in Branson, MO. The kiddos had a blast, and well, Matt and I also had some fun too! We stayed in a condo on Table Rock Lake that had 3 swimming pools, and you can pretty much guess that we spent most of our time swimming. JD spent most of his time in the pool with the water slides and Ava and Grant played in the zero depth pool with the waterfall. We did manage to squeeze in some other fun things also, like going to Silver Dollar City, a 1960's singing diner and a little bit of shopping. JD and I rode all the fun, fast, and scary rides at Silver $ City, while Ava and Daddy got to do the little kiddie rides. Poor Grant, he just sat in his stroller and watched the whole time, but he was a trooper. Maybe next year, Grant! JD got to build his own remote control car, while Ava and Grant ate sno-cones and watched. The weather was a little rainy, but it was perfectly warm most of the time and we didn't have to worry about sunburns at the pool :) We even took a little road trip even further south and went in to Arkansas, or as JD likes to call it Ar-Kan-sus. We went to a little silver mining town called Eureka Springs, and then we almost went into Bentonville, where Wal-Mart was founded, but ran out of time, oh darn, would have loved to shop at Wal-Mart, since they're so rare :) he-he. All in all, it was a pretty fun trip, but we are all glad to be home, especially Grant, I think he missed his crib, he's still napping, and it's been almost 4 hours!

Grant's 1st Birthday Party
Grant turned the big O-N-E on April 18th, and we celebrated his Birthday (only 3 weeks later :) today! We had a FULL house and here are just a few pics of Grantster tearing into his cake. You can see Grant's cute cake before he demolished it. But, before he was able to tackle this big feat, he needed an energy swig, first. (If they made Red Bull for babies, he would be swiggin that!) As you can see, Grant clearly won this battle and left nothin but a few crumbs of cake and the poor frosting that stuck to everything, and if the frosting wasn't soooo sticky, he would have downed that too! Can't wait to see what kind of a mess he makes next year :)
