Well, the kiddo's are doing just fine, let's see, where or should I say who, do I begin with. I'll start with JD, he's the easiest! JD has been very busy with baseball, and is getting ready for "Outdoor Ed" he and his fifth grade class, will be spending the night in a cabin on Thursday, and will get to hike, fish, go on a canoe ride, and basically enjoy nature for two days, I just hope it doesn't rain. I can only imagine 66 fifth graders running wild in the forests, what fun! Grant (or Bachie, as Ava calls him) just turned 1 and is busier than ever! He has no desire to walk by himself, but will walk along anything and will walk if you hold his hand. I always called him my "laid-back baby" but now, I'm not so sure. He has been climbing the stairs like crazy and my house looks like a bomb hit it, I have chairs, and pillows and blankets "guarding" every doorway to keep him out of trouble. His newest thrill, is getting into to fireplace and throwing out all the sand and logs (don't worry, they're fake) so yes, I also have pillows and blankets and anything I can find blocking that too! His birthday party is this Sunday, so I have a lot of picking up to do, or in my case, making sure there's room in the closets for all this stuff. (If you're coming over on Sunday, please don't wear a jacket, there will be no place to put it, and whatever you do, don't look in the closets :) Grant was a little grumpy yesterday, he had to get three shots and his fingers pricked, for his 1 year check-up, but he was a trooper, like always and speaking of check-ups, that leaves me with only 1 update left ~ AVA ~ (or as she calls herself, Roarra) I saved her for last, because we all know this could be long!! So, we go to the doctor, for Grant, of course, and end up going to the emergency room at Children's Hospital, but not for Grant, ohhhhh no, we were there for, you guessed it, AVA! She got her finger run over by a tricycle, while playing with her friends, about 2 or 3 weeks ago and was always telling me about her "ouchie" well, if you know Ava, she can sometimes be dramatic, so we would just kiss it and tell her it would all be better. Then, a couple of days ago, we told her to give us a thumbs-up, and not surprisingly, she wasn't able to do it with her right thumb. Well, we looked at it and found out that it was literally stuck in a bent position, so when we went to the Dr. he called a specialist and they told us to take her to Children's. Well after about an hour and lots of X-rays, they told us that it wasn't a bone issue and that they couldn't re-break it or re-set it, it was more of a tendon issue and that she would probably need surgery. (They both sound painful, I don't know which one would be worse, poor Roarra) So here we are, waiting to get her in to see the specialist, there are only 5 in Omaha and then surgery, probably sometime in June, hopefully not on or near her B-day. I almost forgot the best part, they called it "Trigger Finger" I guess she's going to be a hunter after all! Oh, and by the way, Gramps, if you're reading this, the ouchie did not come from you, we know how she likes to pick on her "Papa" So, that was my interesting Monday!
